The gotong-royong (communal clean-up) activity in Taman Suria was held on Sunday, 25 May 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Taman Suria Community Environmental Information Centre. It was attended by 30 community members of Taman Suria. The activity, carried out under the W.A.T.E.R project in collaboration with the Taman Suria Residents’ Committee (KRT) and the Global Environment Centre (GEC), received support and cooperation from the State Assemblyman (ADUN) of Ijok, a Kuala Selangor Municipal Council Member, and the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS). The event was officiated by the ADUN of Ijok, Y.B. Tuan Jefri Bin Mejan, with an opening speech delivered by the Chairman of KRT Taman Suria, Mr. Nagendran a/l Arjunan.

The main objective of the activity was to clean the surrounding areas of Taman Suria, especially the nearby river, in order to foster a sense of neighbourliness and responsibility in protecting the environment. The programme began with a sharing session on the W.A.T.E.R. Project by Dr. K. Kalithasan, River Care Programme Manager, before the community members proceeded with the clean-up activity around the community information centre. This activity marks the first step towards creating a more environmentally conscious Taman Suria community, committed to contributing to the sustainability of the river and its surroundings.
